Is it a safer idea to use BCC or BC to protect my address when sending this type of mass email?
Where should I place my email, in Bc: or Bcc:

As far as I am aware, there is no BC.
The choices are CC and BCC.
CC stands for Carbon Copy and BCC stands for Blind Carbon Copy.
If you don't want anyone receiving the email to see who else gets the email, you'd use the BCC option.

But there has to be a from address which EVERONE will see. What are you planning to put there?

Also some will never open an email if they don't recognize the sender and some have email programs set up that they only accept email from people in their contact list.

As plodr wrote above! OTOH, if you want to copy yourself, but to a different email address, and don't want any of your recipients to know, then put that addy in the "bcc" field.

Separately, unless all the recipients already know each other and have each others' emails - when doing a 'mass mailing', it's good practice to put all of them in the "bcc" field for privacy purposes.

Because one email account is getting problems I want to use another therefore I wanted to advise all my contacts of my new email address.
Could you please tell me step-by-step what I should do.
If you don’t have the time or willingness I will understand.

    1. Sign into your new email.
    2. Create (compose) a new message.
    3. Put everyone's email address in the "bcc" field
    4. Compose your message (something like... please remove my old email address (xxxx@oldemail.com) from your contacts and replace with my new one (xxxx@newemail.com)...
    5. Send.

Whenever you send an email to anyone, that recipient will see your email address. In terms of 'protecting' your email address, simply don't send email or respond to email of unknown / suspicious addresses. And it's a good idea to maintain different/separate email accounts for (1) family/friends/acquaintance versus (2) shops and merchants versus (3) banks/cards/tax authorities.
