Years ago I had a simple piece of encryption software that allowed you to encrypt a message with a password and send it to someone who was then able to decrypt it without having to have the encryption software - all they needed was the password. Does anyone know if that software still exists? And if so, where I can find it? Thanks all

7-zip will do this, if you choose to zip the file, rather than selecting 7z, XZ, BZIP2, GZIP, TAR, or WIM.

If you choose one of the above formats, then the recipient will need the program (installed or portable) to unpack the file.

Wow, I did not realize that. I have 7-zip already. Thanks so much.
