I have no sound on my laptop. Running an Asus Zenbook 14, updated to Windows 11, no external speakers connected. I updated all the sound drivers. When I open the Settings it says Realtek Audio - 100%. I done everything that I know to do and I'm stumped. If you need further information please let me know. Thank you for taking time to help.

What happens if you use external speakers? I had someone bring me a laptop like that once, no sound, drivers, uninstalling/reinstalling nothing worked. They did not want me to reload the system.
Recently I had a Dell that the wifi quit on, tried drivers, and so on.. Dell sent me a replacement wifi card, still nothing. I did a reload of the system and the original wifi started working. I have no idea, seems like Windows is not taking the drivers or something?

Simple I know but have you checked to see if Mute is enabled? There should be a key which does this on the keyboard.

Sorry it took so long to get back to you but your response went into the spam folder. First I plugged in some earbuds and nothing, no sound from laptop or earbuds. I decided to plugged in some earbuds again and I could hear it perfectly, sound from earbuds but not computer. I unplugged the earbuds and the sound started coming out of the computer which lasted about a week or so. Last night, no sound from computer again, plugged in earbuds and no sound from either, so I'm soundless again. I do have some external speakers that I can plug in, I just have to round them up.

UPDATE: I can get no sound from either earbuds or laptop. Couldn't find the external speakers.

Under sound settings are the speakers chosen as default output? If you change to headphones do they then work with those?

Under sound settings it is set to speakers. Volume, Left and Right are set to 100. When I run the test I can see the audio moving towards 100 but no sound. When I plug in my headphones - nothing, when I unplug the headphones the computer says that headphones have been unplugged from the audio jack, but still no sound from the laptop itself. Thank you for taking your time.

Thanks. I take it that the sound card is still showing under device manager?
Is Audio enhancements enabled? If so try disabling them.
Does the Asus come with its own control centre? If so then check under that program in case it is overtaking the Windows own settings for sound.
Is the BIOS up to date? Have you reset the BIOS to default settings?

The sound card is still showing under Device Manager. I have not checked or touched the BIOS but will check it for the most current version. What does setting the BIOS to default settings do. I'm not sure about a control center for the Asus I usually do things manually. Thank you for your time and patience.

I just checked my BIOS and it was last updated 7/2020. I went to the ASUS website and I see where the latest BIOS was 3/22. So, I guess that will probably be my next endeavor.

Sorry, question before updating my BIOS. I also see a BIOS Flash Utility. Do I need to install that too? Pic attached.

The flash utility will automate the BIOS update for you so yes I would install that first.

Looked up how to backup the bitlocker recovery key. I follow the instructions but when I get the result I don't see what it says I should see. Picture on left is the instructions and picture on the right is my screen after following the instructions.

I did find the bitlocker recovery file and saved as a text file to my external drive.

Sorry for the late reply. Glad to hear you managed to save your Bitlocker key, if you sign in with a Microsoft account I would also check that it is saved there too. I would also save it to a cloud service like OneDrive & add it to the Vault.

Glad to hear the BIOS update restored sound.

Thank you for all your help. I did save it to my Microsoft account but will go back and save it to my One Drive.
