Hi All I am working on my friends laptop. She has a Lenovo Idea Pad S340 with 12 gigs memory. Well I have tried everything to fix the display driver error on youtube but to no avail. I will post a picture of that. Okay when I ran intel drivers update it says it is installed. Crazy!!

My friends likes to screen her laptop windows 11 to the TV well that was working until about a week ago and now it is not detecting anything like the TV at all. I again went on Youtube and tried so many things and it is still not detecting the TV and it is all in discovery mode and detect modes. I am at a loss. So could use the help.

    Thanks!

There are number of things here but may need more detail to diagnose the issues:

    1. Windows Update issue with reated install of a driver.
    2. Use of Windows Update drivers.
    3. Connection/Projection of laptop display to TV.
    4. Windows options for extending or project a display.

With regard to item 1: If the Windows update tries to install the driver again, you can use the “Show or Hide Updates” troubleshooter to hide the update and prevent it from installing again.
https://support.microsoft.com/en-gb...eshooter-19bc41ca-ad72-ae67-af3c-89ce169755dd Or, is the issue that you tried an Intel installer for it to tell you that it's already installed?

With regard to item 2: I tend to find that Windows Update drivers are not necessarily the best or most up to date and also can cause issues. I use a Driver Updater application called Driver Booster: https://www.majorgeeks.com/files/details/iobit_driver_booster.html However, the best solution is to go to the manufacturer's website for the latest drivers at https://pcsupport.lenovo.com/gb/en/products/laptops-and-netbooks/ideapad-s-series-netbooks You can also use the Troubleshooter from there as well.

With regard to item 3: You don't say which TV nor which method of connection - HDMI cable, Bluetooth, WiFi, etc.. It is possible that the TV itself has settings to accept/reject devices connecting or projecting to it - review those. Also the TV is likely to be software based and it too requires updates - review that as well. Have you tried connecting or projecting to a different TV or monitor? This will help determine if the problem lies with the laptop or the TV. If you are using a cable connection, try a different HDMI port on the TV if available, test with a different HDMI cable if possible.

With regard to item 4: Check the laptop Display Settings:
    - Right-click on the desktop and select "Display settings."
    - Scroll down to "Multiple displays" and ensure it's set to "Extend" or "Duplicate" (depending on your preference).
    - Click "Detect" to see if the TV is recognized.
    Also, try Graphics Settings:
    - Press `Win + P` to open the Project menu.
    - Select "Extend" or "Duplicate" to see if the TV appears.

Hello and thanks for responding, I did the above things other then hiding the driver. I was trying to mirror project to Tv all the setting are correct on both devices. When I go into display settings it it is stuck on 1:Internal display "Also it says troubleshoot no longer works on windows 11 to try and hide that driver.

Solved: There was a troubleshooting link on windows 11 forum that hid the update for intel driver.

Try rolling back driver to previous version.
Edit: Super, I see you are fixed!

To roll back to previous driver go to:
    >> Device manager
    >> Display adapters
    >> Click on your adapter
    >> Click on Driver tab
    >> Click on roll back option
