Hello To All

Hi everyone,

First, it's great to be on MGs. For some reason when I click on my account inbox that will show, but my account itself will not show anything. Says error. Odd.

Second, besides introducing myself I'd like to give a shoutout to Plodr, whom I cannot find how to PM, b/c I'd like to ask him if he's ever had any problems w/an appl called DesktopOK. Plus to say it's always fun reading his responses. This site is great! Hope to up my knowledge of computers

 

Hello Mustachio. I am not a he. I'm a senior citizen female in her late 70's. I've been hanging out here for decades.

I never had a problem with DesktopOK but I run Windows 7. It appears it works with Win 10 and 11 but since I don't have them installed anywhere, I can not say that it works fine on those OSes.

 

@plodr My Mom's age. I'm only 53 and can't imagine whats it's going to be like at 73. I spent 10 years as a Bricklayer and 25 in the retail paint industry so I often feel 73.
What I do know, moving into the senior realm is not for the weak.

My mistake Plodr. I have to watch myself. Well I read of some problems with that appl but I'm trying to find something that allows me to keep folder & icon placement on the desktop from changing when I use an external lcd. Problem in W11 and 10, not sure about Linux Mint. One issue is I don't really trust any website for downloads except MG.

I know what you mean xrobwx71, I'm early 60's and have been taking care of my elderly mother w/alzheimers. I feel used up much of the time. I'm not a fan but will have to look up Ratchet and Clank. Glad to 'meet' everyone!

DesktopOK is a handy tool, but display setups can sometimes cause issues with icon placement. You might also try Windows' built-in "Auto arrange icons" or display settings for a simpler fix.
