Upgrade Computer For Windows 11

I have a 7-year old computer running Windows 10. It passes all of the requirements to upgrade to Windows 11, except for the processor. Instead of buying a new computer, what are your thoughts about getting a new processor for my old computer? Thank you.

 

I bypass the cpu requirements with a program called Rufus. It has options to bypass it when creating bootable installation media.

I have saved this Install Windows 11 on an old PC. (NEW METHOD)
for a friend who has a similar difficulty.

Stephen: Thank you for the link. I had no idea that there were so many work arounds. I will need to figure this out.

I'm a bit leery of using 3rd party software to update or patch Windows 10 so I can continue receiving updates until October 2026.

 

You do not need to use a 3rd party app, Go to Update & Security. In the Windows Update section, look for the notice about Windows 10 support ending. Click on Enroll Now..... done. You will receive updates for another year free. You may have to be signed into a Microsoft account, I am not sure.

 

Yes, I found out that I do have to be signed in to a Microsoft account.
So I did, and was then able to join the ESU program!
