    Hi,
I have Win10 and chrome and edge freezes when I log into gmail or other sites like LinkedIn. Eventually, maybe around 2 min it will allow me to log in.

Is Chrome & Edge up to date? If you use a non Chrome based browser (like Firefox) does the problem still occur?
    Is Windows up to date?
    Please try these cmds:
Right click on start & choose powershell/terminal with admin & type/copy & paste these cmds one at a time then click Enter:

    SFC /SCANNOW

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /StartComponentCleanup

    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth

    SFC /SCANNOW

Yes the Sfc cmd is run twice.

There are a number of possibilities for poor browser performance:
    • Browser security features or extensions
    • Windows 10 or browser corruption issue
    • Browser cache or profile corruption
    • Hardware acceleration issues
    • DNS or network filtering problems
    Fixes to try:
    1. Disable ALL browser extensions temporarily
If freezing is stops, re-anable each browser extension one by one until the culprit is found.
    2. Check to see if you are using a security product that includes web preotection.
Are you using such a product and if so which one?
Review the product's security settings and select only those you need.
    3. Clear the browser cache and cookies.
Settings -> Privacy -> Clear browsing data -> Choose Cookies and Cached images/files.
Note this will clear login and passwords for the problem websites and you will need to log back in to those.
    4. I'll stop there for now, but there are other browser and system items you can try that would essentially reset, re-install and/or update the products - both browser, networking and operating system.

I've NOT had ANY issues as of yet logging into Gmail, using Pale Moon Version (33.9.0.1) on Win 7 Home Premium 32bit.

BUT have all sorts of problems getting into Yahoo Mail. Something changed on Yahoo's end as I DIDN'T change anything on my end UNTIL I couldn't log in a few months ago. That's when I updated Pale Moon to NO avail. It just hangs on the Password page/screen with an endless spinning circle. In fact the "Forgot Password" button DOESN'T work, click on it and you can see it actuate BUT NOTHING happens and you stay on the Password screen. Now hears the kicker, the "Forgot User Name" button on the first sign/log in page/screen works AND entering ones User Name will move you on to the Password screen. I've called Yahoo TWICE abt. this problem, Before my second call to them I found out others with Pale Moon and Basilisk browsers have the same problem. I told Yahoo as much in my second call telling them it IS something THEY did that caused the prevention of logging in.

So far the ONLY way I can get into my account is to use either the "Forgot User Name" OR a little more work, the "Forgot Password" path. Once into my email I can read and send mail, BUT I still CAN'T access user/account settings because you need to reenter Password BUT it does the same and can't log in. Which ALL this IS a ROYAL PITA.

So this said, have you tried to get into and use your Gmail account by using the "Forgot User Name" way?

Next, maybe try logging in using a VPN or maybe using Startpage.

Firefox doesn't seem to be a problem.

When was the last time you were able to log into either or both your Gmail and FB accounts?

Has ANYTHING changed between your last successful login via Chrome/Edge and your recent unable to login problems? Any changes can be things you did (settings, add-ons, extensions, apps, program install, etc.) AND/OR any auto updates including but not limited to (Windows, Browsers, add-ons, extensions, apps, programs)?

Do you have ANY Add-ons, Apps and/or Extensions added/installed on your Chrome and Edge browsers (old and/or new ones added)? IF so, what ones and, are they up to date?

Windows up to date? Yes for Win 10.
    I tried all the commands.
    DISM /Online /Cleanup-Image /RestoreHealth errored at 53%.
Below is the log.... okay, I tried to upload and or paste the contents but the forum would freeze. Please Let me know if you wan the dism.log file.

As the problem doesn’t occur with Firefox & the DISM gave errors then try an in-place repair:
Download the Windows 10 .iso, right click & choose mount then run setup.
follow instructions & ensure keep everything/keep personal apps & files is automatically selected - if not & you can’t choose this then do not proceed - if all ok continue with installation/repair.
    Once complete test Edge again.

@Goddess Bastet hi. I plan on upgrading to Win 11. So should I do that instead and see if the problem persist?

    You can do.

@Goddess Bastet Looks like my system isn't Win 11 compatible. You mentioned, "Download the Windows 10 .iso, right click & choose mount then run setup." Can I do the USB option instead of .iso option?

This shouldn't be the issue seeing as you are able to log in using Firefox.

BUT try running a couple different internet Speed Tests to a few different locations/servers on/with all 3 browsers (Chrome, Edge and Firefox). Run the exact same tests on each Browser for each different test you run, record results of each test and post. Maybe there is a latency, dropped packets, and/or other data communication/transfer issue developed in your Chrome and Edge for some reason that isn't happening in your Firefox.

Yes it can be done that way with Win 10.
