The Secure Boot/certificate Issue.

Could someone please explain to me (in simple terms) what the whole Secure Boot issue is? I've been seeing videos all over YouTube with titles like "Windows is about to break your computer," "Secure Bot is EXPIRING! Do this before June 10th," " URGENT! Only 5 days to stop the Windows 11 Recall," and "Why your PC will eventually lock you out." The video I watched talked about BIOS/UEFI, a Windows update preventing boot up/"breaking" your BIOS, and certificates expiring. I still use Windows 10, but my mother's computer runs 11. What do I need to do to protect her system? Should I also check my Windows 10 PC? Any help would be greatly appreciated!!

 

I have seen a lot of these videos and they are mostly for click bait.

What i would recommend is on youtube don't recommend channel.And a lot of them are AI so fake information.

Unfortunately my laptop would require a BIOS update which I doubt the manufacturer would supply as it’s an old device so either I’d have to wait for MS to release something or turn off secure boot come June.

 

You can stop the recall through services/group policy.
