Urgent: Microsoft Is Locking Users Out Of Local Accounts On May 20th! Hardpoint Tech

    I doubt it highly. First, EVERY tech site would be blowing up with this "news"; second, there are too many corporate instances where local accounts are necessary.

    I suspect that Microsoft knows that they've gotten what they can by forcing Windows' initial installation to be via a Microsoft account, and that's what most users will do...especially the youngsters who know no better. Those of us who remember the wild and woolly days where the user reigned are a dying breed, and Microsoft can afford to play the long game.

    All of that being said, however, I will keep my eyes out for anything on this topic.
