I constantly download files from the net to enhance my gaming needs. I was downloading a file at some point and it was said i needed winace. I went to their site and downloaded winace. Winace worked for a while but now it says winace is outdated and to update. Now i'm supposed to pay but i know there has to be something for free. Any input would be appreciated.

    Another good/free one is 7-Zip

7-Zip is nice and I use it, but it won't handle ACE archives.

    TugZip is pretty good, too.

I prefer zipgenius, just as Shadow_Puter_Dude suggested. One note: ZipGenius also incorporates 7-zip within it!

Just a suggestion, but how about 'Izarc?'

    Hello,
I downloaded zipgenious becasue for some reason my old unzipping program stopped working. I am not very computer literate and am used to anything I download to unzip when I click on it. I don't know how to set up zipgenious to unzip automatically. Can you guide me thru it or suggest an easier unzipping program for those of us who are computer challenged? Thanks very much.

    Abbie

Thank you. That's exactly what I did. 7Zip seems to be better for me.
PS-the thread May be old but still helpful!

    +1 for 7-Zip.

It's not pretty, but it's stable, reliable and easy to use.

It will add a 7-Zip entry to the context menu so you can right click on a .zip file and have several extract (unzip) options.

I love winrar. It has only pestered me about it being out of trial, but it has never stopped working, so I just click ignore.
