*FYI* the Forum Software has been updated,

And you may come across some changes to the layout, these may or may not change.

Their are also as I've noticed this morning a few graphical errors or missing images, these will be rectified soon, their maybe loss of games in the arcade if so please tell us which ones if any.

You will also notice some changes to the posting boxes, like the ability to quote multiple posts in a thread, a handy option I think.


IF somethink is broke, please bare with us as it will be fixed as soon as possible

Yep Star.. I agree with your first observation, and it does seem a little snappier.... also adds some security measures against spammers, not noticed the hang on logout tho.

Dont remember the fade effect on logout either, but then again I dont remember anything.

but clicking OK, it zipps out and no hang, but Star your getting it hanging at this point if I'm correct.

 

Hit the END key on your keyboard if it has one and that takes you to botton of page, but as I mentioned in the first line things may or most likey will get changed back... just bare with us.

 

Personally I dont like the similar threads option as it has the potential for some to think these are new threads and post in them thus dragging up threads from over a year ago ( have already noticed this in a few threads that are Hi and Welcome type posts have been posted in one thread was from 2004 ) ..... it is good for research if your searching for info.

Dont have time in my schedule to go around locking 1000s of threads.. done automatically it may lock active ones if using time or postcounts, but as I said I do like it for research and would hope that users did look at the dates of the posts and know it not worth replying to a thread from say 6mths+ ago as original poster maybe long gone.

I do find Advanced Search much more accurate in location of similar threads tho.. but its my preference only, we all have differening prefs.

Yeah, used for research its a nice option. Automatic things have a habbit of selecting legit threads, the spam filter we have did this for a while until MA took time in starting from scratch.. works good now, but spam will always get around as you cannot prepare for every text optionbut its much less than it used to be...


You notice anythink else that maybe broke or have missing icons etc ( the layout will most likely change and revert to how it was ), please let us know in this thread and I can pass it onto the coders, Thanks

 

Much is now back as it was

The odd few GFX coloured icons are still evident but awaiting the MG GFX geek redesign those.

 

Trying to make an old dog do new trick ......shame on you ....my confusion level is high enough ....gezzzz.

Cheers Solange, the guys doing the update work hard, but we do still have a few small issues to work out, but not worth rushing those... best to get right, but I think all functionality is ok at this time.

 

Working on it now, most issues should be resolved. Forum was built over 5 years. This upgrade cancelled a lot of settings, images and add-ons. Bear with us, I am done for the day (its been 12 hours on and off) and will start a new thread looking for issues tommorow.
