One Video card, or two?

Hey guys. Haven't been on in a while (Army training doesn't afford me the free time I used to have), still love the forums. Got a question. Looking to upgrade my box while I'm home for the holidays.My mobo has 2 PCI-E slots, with 2x Geforce 6600s. The crappy thing is, I got my mobo when it first came out, and found out the hard way that this is a board that runs 16x for one slot, but 8x/8x for 2. Would it be a better deal to buy ONE Geforce 7800 (and run it at 16x), or say 2 7200s (and run them at 8x apiece)?

 

Come on guys, all I'm asking for is a little advice. This isn't at all like my "motherboard is shorted to the case" thread from a long time ago. Just want a little advice from anyone. Feel free to bust out a disclaimer like, "Well I think...", and I promise to not come back with another post that's like

"THAT M'FER. HE SED TOO CARDSWAS FASTER, BUT MY BF2 IS SLOW LIKE UR MOM".

Just a "Well my buddy", or a "You know, (successful website) says..." .

if u have aim or xfire give me ur name ill do a 1 on 1 chat with u about this! im really smart at this!haha so funny cuz im in the army to,ship out in feb 3rd supposely if my ear surgery does good on the 27th.But this is what i would in ur shoes if had a 8x8x board.Theres no point to sli on a 8x8 board take my advice on this.I had a asus a8n-sli and the *** didnt tell me it was 8x8x after i shelled out 250 bucks and then 939 died 2 weeks later :\.Your not gonna notice anything with 2 6600 running in 8x8x ,im sorry but its true.Did u know 16x16=32x boards r out now?where u can 2 6600 both at 100 percent?!I have 2 7900 gs running at 32x and i hit 130-250 fps in css.sli finally learned ppl dont want 30-40 percent of the second card,ur in the army and i know u boys come out with good money in trainning cuz u dont spend any.Buy a good board and a good video and sli it at 32x ull notice that difference there.A good board is a 680i

o the point of me wanting to go to iraq is that uhmm how do i say this,when ur in the states yeah u make good money.Cuz u make 1400 bucks but thats urs..they pay for ur food,housing,health,dental,eye..so u basically keep ur 1400.But when u go to iraq or anywhere in warzone,u get 200 for seperation pay from ur family,u get danger pay around 300,and ur money isnt taxed.so u make around 2 k alone and ur keeping that money.The whole i wanna see combat was a joke but i dont hate those ppl tho!

 

It might be better if you asked your question like "I have $200 to spend on a video card, and I play xxx, yyy, and zzz games. What is the best choice?" So, let us know what games you play and how much you are going to spend and we'll be able to help much better.
