    Hi

For some reason, when I'm on the net and I click on/for a pop-up that has a photo or information that I want or need to see, nothing happens.

I have tried right click on the highlighted portion to open in a new window, but it'll either do nothing, or open up a totally blank new pane.

My Java updates are set to automatic, so I really don't have much of a clue what is occurring. I am also allowing pop-ups on the sites in question.

Now, I always used to be able to view things in this way, so something has changed without my knowledge or say so.

Any ideas anyone? It'll probably be somnething extremely easy and straight forwards to guys such as yourselves, but as I am not much of a techie it's a bit of a conundrum.

BTW - I have a MAJOR problem that I'm going to post a bit later on today. That one will really have your brain cogs whirring!!

this have happened to me when trying to view PDF files. Try right click on the ling and choose "save link as". Save it anywhere you like and open it.

Are you allowing Java on the sites (updates don't exactly help)? If you don't have Java enabled by default, when you click on things it'll either come up blank or claim it's not found. If you're using Firefox, check your extensions.

I'm using IE8, but how do I know if I have allowed Java on these sites?

    Thanks

    Cheers Major.

I've done that, (after uninstalling the Java I had running first of course) but still no joy.

I'll show you what I am up against. Go to this chat site (don't worry - it's nothing dodgy!)

    http://chelsea2.chelseafc.com/yourchelsea/frame_chat.htm

and view the messages. Choose any message you like, and the author of the message comes up in blue. Now if you click on their name, it's supposed to open up a little box with their profile on it. I know this because I used to be able to do it!! However, I get nothing. Nada. Not a message that says 'tough luck Charlie', or any kind of guidance. It's just as if I have never clicked in the first place.

Do you think my browser settings might be wrong perhaps?

    Many thanks.
