Find an ip address

I need to find the ip address of a Linksys wireless access point on a network. Whoever set it up changed the default ip from 192.168.1.245. I'd prefer not to reset the thing and lose all of the settings. Is there a way to find the ip of the device, or of everything on the local network, so I can then narrow it down? Using Windows XP.

When I go into the router, I can't find anything about the access point or its ip address. I thought there might be a connection to it, but can't find anything.

Is there a label on the bottom of the WAP that tells you the access point name, or do you know it? If so, type http://the_access_point_name into your browser and its setup screen login should come up.

Sorry, but I don't know of a name. I believe the connection is called House, but I'm not sure if that's the same thing. I tried it using House, but it didn't work.

 

That software worked great-thanks! I found the default ip address I mentioned earlier, plus 192.168.1.255. I tried to access both of these, but the page never loads. This is how it acted before, so I thought the ip address must have been changed. Maybe it wasn't, but why can't I get into it?

Any ideas?

 

192.168.1.255 is a reserved IP known as a broadcast address.It's not a device on your network.

What's the IP address of the PC you're trying to access it from, and that of the router they're both hooked to?

 

PC is 192.168.1.51
Router is 192.168.1.1

 

Make sure the subnet mask of the PC is 255.255.255.0
