Intel Active Monitor crashed my pc?

I installed Intel Active Monitor and my PC crashed immediately, went black, and now it won't even boot. I am using a Dell XPS 200.

I plan to contact tech. support, tonight. Does anybody have any ideas on how to fix it?

 

Have you tried restarting it several times?

I was trying to catch you with my question before you got off.

Try removing all power by unplugging the power cord from the system for no less than 15 seconds and restart.

I've turned it off and on two or three times, and I removed the power cord from the back, but not for 15 seconds.

 

OK that worked, I counted 15 missippi's after unplugging it. I also, pressed the power to drain the rest of the power before I plugged it back up.

 

Apparently I hae a Dell manufactored board instead of Intel, but I have an Intel dual core processor.

 

I think I would uninstall it whicky.

Your mobo is still likely Intel OEM for Dell.

Intel Active Monitor does not support Intel desktop boards based on 915G, 915P, 925X, and future chipsets. For hardware monitoring on these boards, use Intel Desktop Utilities.

Your XPS 200 should have a 945G chipset, which I would consider "future", in reference to that statement.

 

IUD also crashed my PC. There probably is no official program for my PC since it can't be overclocked (I think).
