NewDotNet Virus

    I've run all the scans, and hopefully I'm not forgetting to attatch all logs, but I've got the NewDotNet bug and can't seem to get rid of it. First off, I will say that in step 5 of the Read and Run me first, I could not restart my cpu in safe mode and do my online scans, so I did them in normal mode. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

    Where you unable to run the other requested logs?


    o CounterSpy
    o AVG Antispyware log - ONLY IF NEEDED you were not able to run CounterSpy
    o Bitdefender - from step 6
    o Panda Scan - from step 6
    o runkeys.txt - the log from GetRunKey.bat
    o newfiles.txt - the log from ShowNew.bat
    o HijackThis

    NOTE: You can only attach 3 files in a single message so it will require that you use two messages to attach all of these logs!

    You have not run Hijack This from the proper place as per the instructions in the Read and Run First guide:
    C:\Documents and Settings\Hillary\Local Settings\Temp\wz7246\HijackThis.exe

    This is exactly where we tell you not to save it ...best to save it to C:HijackThis.exe

    Tim,
    Thanks in advance for your help. It's much appreciated. The bdscan is the Bitdefender scan in the previous message. activescan is the Panda Scan. I reran the HiJackThis from the location you mentioned and I am reposting it. I couldn't figure out how to save the results from the Counterspy scan so I saved the results in jpg format. Also, there were no results from the getrunkey.bat. I've listed the other scans that I've done.

    The READ ME tells you how to save the log!!!!!!

    That's because you did not run GetRunKey or ShowNew (for that matter) properly. You need to follow the directions on the download pages exactly. You MUST NOT run the .bat files from inside the ZIP file which is what you are doing.
