Donation for G.T.

For those interested in contributing to a floral arrangement from MG members for Gary...I found a local (to Gary) florist that accepts paypal, which I thought would be the easiest for everyone...payments made through snail mail would simply take to long.

Flowerhand has some beautiful arrangements on their website. Final selection would be based on amount of contributions.

Payments can be sent via paypal to teresad1 at gmail dot com.

Please be sure to include a note with at least your first name and MG's user ID for the card.

I have a Dr.'s appt. at Mayo first thing this morning so if there are any questions I will respond as soon as I get back home.

I'm liking this one though, for selfish reasons, it could wait until I was paid, it would also be a nice tribute.
I think most people's lives are touched my cancer at some point, either through friends or family, um, I don't know what to say..

Abby, I hope you and Star are doing ok, I know you were close to Gary. *hugs*

Great ideas both of you, and Yes I would like to donate something from us for G.T./Gary's family, however I must admit that "Paypal" is not a workable option for me, but Major Credit Cards are. So I guess my question is, is there some way to make this a Option?

And before you say it M.A., Yes I am one of those whoosis who will not use "PayPal"LOL LOL

Me too. I don't have a paypal account, but I would like to contribute. If the is an organization that I can donate to let me know.

Ditto me . . . I don't use paypal. I would like to donate if a standard credit card is an option. Both Ideas are good.

Same here, I don't use PayPal.
International banktransfers could be done as well, I'd just need an IBAN number along with your bankaccount number.

For those wishing to donate on your own in Gary's name to the American Cancer Society it can be done online, by phone or mail.

I spoke with Carol earlier today and they are all hanging in there and doing ok. Aaron has arrived safely and is there with Carol and Gary's parents. I mentioned a donation to the ACS and she thought it was a wonderful idea and I think somewhat surprised that we would do this. Just another way for his family to know what a positive impact Gary has had on all of us here....there is no doubt he was a special, unique man who will be missed tremendously.

I have just left Gary's farewell tribute letter in the Guest Book.

I received more donations! You folks ROCK! Gary's family will be so pleased.

For those wishing to do this and not make a donation on your own....in order to give everyone more time if they need it or haven't yet seen that we are doing this, I will hold off until Friday the 16th to send a lump sum donation to the ACS. This will also allow time for snail mail if you don't have a paypal account so you can send a MO. If you don't have my address from when we sent cards to Gary, please email me at the email address in the first post OR abbysue at majorgeeks dot com. $5.00, $10.00..it doesn't matter! Every little bit helps out and it's not only for a good cause but to honor a great man who gave so much to all of us here.

Anyone sending funds will be listed on the donation (unless you don't want to be) so please be sure to include at least your first name and your MG's user name so I know who you are....*cough* Richard confused

I'll post back with the 'results' of the donations when all is said and done...I will not list individual donation amounts here, that's private. I will also email Carol to let her know that the donation has been made in Gary's name and how much was collected.

GT was too great of a guy to resist!!

I will definitely miss him and I'm glad he is in no more pain, and I know he has gone to better place!!
