I have this website that I use for work every day....one day a security alert popped up and i must not have been paying attention, and when it asked if I wanted to proceed, I must have clicked NO. Everyone else in my company can access this site, so it's not the website itself. Below is the security alert that pops up:

Information you exchange with this site cannot be viewed or changed by others. However, there is a problem with the site's security certificate.

! -- The security certificate was issued by a company you have not chosen to trust. View the certificate to determine whether you want to trust the certifying authority.

check -- The security certificate is valid.

check -- The security certificate has a valid name matching the name of the page you are trying to view.

    Do you want to proceed?

    yes no view certificate

Now I cannot go to this website! I have tried EVERYTHING I CAN THINK OF, and nothing has worked. Here's a quick rundown of what I have tried:

    Uninstalling IE, and re-installing
Change trusted sites to have the website I am trying to go to
Checked to see if it's in blocked sites
    Added https to be sure
    SSL and TLS are checked
    Cleared SSL state
    Reset Web Settings

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I can also provide a screen shot if necessary.

Maybe try a System Restore back to right before the problem started..... if that doesn't work, try a different browser like FireFox, PhaseOut, Avant, etc.... I know using a diff browser doesn't really fix the problem, but you might be able to at least access the site.... good luck!

I tried the system restore, didn't work. I installed FireFox, that didn't work either.

    Any more suggestions?

In IE->Tools, internet options, content, certificates, untrusted publishers tab. See if the certificate is there, if it is, remove it. Hopefully you can click yes normally next time you visit the site.

Also, for any certificate errors, make sure you computer has the right date and time. If your computer clock was accidentally set to 2020, and the certificate is set to expire in 2010, then it is going to be untrusted. And add the website to your trusted sites list in IE->tools->internet options, security tab, trusted sites.

    Best of luck! :)
