From the references I see on MG to the Black Viper configuration and the cheerful reactions of others I assume BV is quite an important site. But...what is BV all about? I mean, it's obvious it has info on computers- especially software- but is it a company? Is it a club or just a user?

BlackViper had a well-kept list of services that can be disabled in Windows XP.

A great guide to tweak an XP installation.

This is good news, but I think I prefer the MG reincarnation :D

I've never heard of him, but reading through his rants and whatnot he seems like an interesting person. He even shares one of my major interests, it seems he cut his teeth on C64's.

Yes, he had a process tweak list online as one of the first, if not the first, complete list of what each does and what you can, or can not disable, along with other tweaks. He is apparently a good guy, some might be territorial and pissy, but he simply contacted us and asked us if we could remove our copy of his tweaks as he was back online, which we gladly did because ours was incomplete. My guess is that he is one of those internet purists you rarely see anymore, helping people just because he can.

Major geeks gave the credit to him and stated they were temporarily storing the information, so I see no reason for any kind of animosity. You both are awesome assets.

Totally agree. MG helped out when BlackViper was "under construction" :D but now he is back online. Great news to all tweakers and major geeks ;)

I also passed on the news in my thread

can't wait to read the vista tweaks section.. the xp stuff was AWESOME and when his site disappeared, it was a sad day indeed.
