Curtains

Are they generally machine washable?
If so, what setting is a good general all purpose one?

Answer needed soon......curtains need to be washed, dry and back up by 5pm today. rolleyes ....or my *** is grass.

 

Depends on what the material is. If they are generic, cheapo off the rack type curtains, i would use a gentle cycle with a gentle detergent to be on the safe side. Tumble dry low and iron on a low setting to get the wrinkles out. This is a generic set of directions, check to see if there is a tag on them with care instructions tho, that would overrule anything I just typed.

Whats you're average drying time, say on a handy radiator?

 

I'm afraid that I don't have the answer to that one, having never lived in a house with radiators. My guess would be a couple hours depending on how dry the air is and how warm the radiator is. Just make sure that it is well cleaned or you will ruin all your work.

you dont have to dry them. hand them up still damp and all the creases will magically disappear.

 

true a curtin rod makes a good drying area
