Am I missing something..? with all those patches that are out to correct the early daylight savings time.

My pc never even hick upped and just did the time change (just changed from 2am-3 am quickly)

I do run Linux suse 10.2 but do not remember a patch being installed in the updates.I read them carefully before installing

I guess the question would be.. Is it just dependent upon the os you use? Did macs have to patch?

Or is it just early and I cannot think straight

Must've been in one of the updates. Mine changed faithfully by itself.

I do remember about 2 weeks ago downloading a patch for my suse install. Maybe you just missed/forgot it?

I got my patch too and the time was correct this morning though when I rebooted, the patch failed, rebooted again(not for the patch) and it seems to work now. confused

    We're good here.

So how much money are we supposed to save in energy costs by changing three weeks early, anyway?

So is Queensland Australia, but "they" (Government, those with vested interests, other States) are trying to force Queensland to adopt D.S.T., despite Queenslanders voting in a referendum NOT to adopt D.S.T.

Living in FNQ (Far North Queensland) as I do, we are not in favour of D.S.T.
With so many out-of-staters moving to South East Queensland (and so many voters there), I guess it will only be a matter of time.:p

It's intention wasn't so much around saving us money as opposed to reducing the effects on global warming.

I found a site in windows to answer a few questions re: daylight savings time, when I sent it to my daughters they said they received a patch already. Guess we're ok, knock wood.

By the way I saw here recently that Australia is trying it out for the first time. True?

No, Australia has had it for years. What you probably saw was WESTERN Australia (WA), (our biggest, and westernmost State) is trying it for the first time, for a trial period.

Western Australia is usually 2 hours behind the Eastern States ( a bit like California being 3 hours behind the USA Eastern States).

With most of the Australian states adopting DST, then WA would have been 3 hours behind those Eastern states using DST, if it did not adopt / trial DST.
Hope this makes sense. :) Bazza

Our servers changed over jsut fine this morning, but then the local machines kept flickering between the hours all morning though. Made for some interesting looking times on the call service.
