Hey guys, really hope one of you can help me with my issue im having.
Ok so the deal is, 512mb ram is getting way too slow for what i need them for, so im going to upgrade to 2gb ram (1gb x 2 units). The thing im having trouble with is the speed or clock speed. I look at ads on eBay and they always mention 2gb ram 667mhz or 533mhz or 800mhz or whatever. Im not familiar with this, how do i know whats right for my computer?
I've run EVEREST on my computer and this is what i see under my motherboard:

    Code:

    Hi fritz117
    Welcome to Major Geeks :major

    If you go to
    http://www.crucial.com/

there are 2 tools you can use which will guarantee the right RAM for your system

    Crucial Memory Advisor™ Tool
will tell you what you can use in your system
after you tell it you have a
    Dell Dimension 8400

    The Crucial System Scanner
will tell you what is already installed

Just because you have 533MHZ installed at the moment, does not mean that 800MHZ is not suitable for your system

    Good luck
