and I cannot put them on DVD to watch on my Plasma.....

Nero would not burn the files and said that it could not do something with the file format.

Since I paid for each episode, I am not pirating...what do I need to do to put them on DVD so I can watch them on the Big Screen instead of the Computer????

    Thank you

Try an app called SUPER... a free download in the MultiMedia section here at MajorGeeks. It converts any media file (audio and/or video) to any other media file format. Friends have used it to convert .avi's to DVD format and burned w/ Nero. Also, visit this site: www.afterdawn.com They have great forums, guides, and software downloads for all types of multimedia type stuff; mainly geared toward DVD's.... check it out!

    Thank you for the input.

I downloaded "SUPER" and on all three files SUPER stopped around 27-35megs.....something in the WMV file must have gotten in the way.

Any other thoughts? It's all Jack Bauer's fault....

.WMV is a Windows Media Video file you could try using Windows Media Player to burn them to DVD.

It's called DRM. It's meant to prevent you from doing precicely what you wish to do. Try this to remove that DRM. It only works if you have the license to play that media, which should be no problem for you.

Windows Media Player will not convert or burn video files or DVD's, unfortunately :( WMP works with music only: .mp3's, .cda's, etc.... Again, if you continue to have problems, visit www.afterdawn.com and check the guides and forums. You have to sign up and register to post in the forums, but it's no big deal: it's FREE. Let us know what happens :)

www.VCDHelp.com has a plethora of tools and guides on how to convert video files and author DVDs with different formats. Most of these tools are just shareware and trial versions. A few of those tools are freeware though.

I'm also curious to know where you bought the .WMV files however.

    Hi,

Thank you for the input. I really don't care if it is freeware or not.....

I usually TIVO "24" but I missed 3 weeks "episodes" and so I went to:

    http://www.direct2drive.com/

and purchased the 3 episodes at $1.99 each.....you can even buy Season 1,2,3,4 or 5 and pay the same as the DVD in the store.

Of course, a DVD from the store is good on your Plasma....and the WMV file is a PIA if you can't burn it and play it on a 60" screen instead of a 24"
