Speakers has a click sound

hi, i never had this problem. i have 5.1 speakers and after i installed vista the back two didnt work. i then installed kx audio. and now on the start of any sound. there would be a faint click. it is very annoying does anybody know a solution of ridding it? thanks

 

simple answer first. you are not just hearing the audio click played by the OS whenever you press the mouse button to start something are you. If you are, then mute the PC speaker.

 

uhm. before any sound begins it clicks and continues to play the sound. i would not like to mute my speakers because then i would not have any sound at all. confused

 

Firstly fair enough, I am with you, but it pays to check the simple stuff. Secondly I am not saying mute all the PC speakers I am talking about turning off selected sound channels only, though you are right I picked up the wrong sound channel, it is not the PC speaker that I meant. However, if you had muted the PC speaker, well so what, it would make no difference to you as you are running sound through 5.1 speakers?

I have no idea what system your running, but I would guess that the Vista install is either not supported by whatever drivers you are using, or it has trigggered a hardware conflict, both of which might well have caused your symptons.
