Nero Download Help

Last night I downloaded Nero 6.6.1.15a. That was, in itself, quite a feat over our very slow and very balky dial-up connection! However, it's done, all 34 MB of it. Now on trying to install it, I am asked for a serial number which I do not have and cannot find. How is one meant to get round this?

You go buy a copy instead of pirating it, thats how. Sorry mg we don't support piracy.

 

I might have thought that by downloading from "Major Geeks" this was not a pirated copy. It would appear that I am wrong. So who can you trust?

I wasn't expecting it to be free! It is advertised as shareware, but there is no option either to pay or download a demo. It was downloaded from the Major Geeks site. No options were provided when I tried to install it.
I have no wish whatsoever to indulge in piracy, and I don't want to put into a position where it appears that I am.

You downloaded a trial/update version. You should be able to use it for 30 days before you need to purchase a serial number from Nero, although I'm not sure how or even if Nero is selling Nero 6 anymore.

 

There is a later version of Nero at MG:

I do apologize then to the original poster, we do get a lot of people here asking for help with p2p downloads. Again sorry i didn't realize that was the case usually a demo won't prompt you for a serial like what bigbazza stated.

This is an update meant for people with Nero 6.6 already installed on their systems. When you download and run this for the first time the serial number of the version already installed on your comp is used automaticly to verify this new download.
