What do people think of MSI Mb's in general? Good, bad?

My current mobo is an MSI, and my last one was an MSI (I gave it to a friend along w/ my old Athlon 2200 to upgrade from his P3 800mhz). Both mobo's are still going strong w/o any problems. I know what I'm about to say is blasphemous, but I'd be very wary of Asus boards. I've seen many of the newer ones (esp in the last 18 months or so) fail in under 30 days or just be bad out of the box. But it seems their older mobo's stand the test of time, so maybe they've lowered their quality control, or the factory has new QC manager or something, who knows? Maybe I'm just not lucky w/ Asus boards.

I have an MSI board, too. It replaced the ASUS board which failed after 6 months.

    I am thinking of getting a MSI PM8M3-V mobo - Pentium 4 / 3.4GHz [775]
but cant work out if it would be better to get a Intel P4 64Bit 3.2Ghz + & LGA775 Via Dual Core Mobo. I have no experience of either and dont know if the dual core option is better than the slightly higher spec MSI.

If you're doing any kind of gaming, go with the dual core...

BTW- I didn't intend to start an MSI vs. Asus thing and I'm not bashing Asus motherboards. Many people like Asus and have nothing but great results from Asus and they swear by Asus. Great! If that's how you feel I have no problem with it! Personally, I really like ECS motherboards too! Alot of people tell me 'oh, ECS is cheap, the use low end components' or maybe 'you get what you pay for so ECS must be garbage' and so on. I think ECS boards are great. The price is low, and I've had very few problems with them, and thier web site works well too (as does MSI's site). But the Asus site? Half the time it's down, and the other half of the time, it's so slow that a 6mb file takes like almost 10 minutes download, and I'll usually have to download from Asus Europe 'cuz the Asus USA site won't respond or it locks up... OOOPS! I'm 'bashing' Asus  Sorry!

ironically it turns out [now that I have had a closer look at the m/b] one of the boards I have been running for about a year is an MSI MS-6533/G which has been fautless so far. So I have to agree with those that like MSI, thay are pretty good.
