I was fooled a little from the get go, the step by step pics of course fixed that. I thought..Of course, why not use pipes as a sorta huge antennae? It was a good prank by Google, especially because Google is so trusted..

As it happens there is actually a company that does cabling, including telephone and internet cabling - through sewers. But they don't terminate in toilets though I forget the link though...
