Yes must agree Diana Rigg ( Emma Peel ) in those Kindy Boots and black leather catsuits.......... Wooooooooo!

  3. Solange

    Solange Sergeant Major

Yes, even I can't resist saying Rrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

    :D

That lady was hot! I've liked her in everything I saw her in. She starred in a small TV series a few years ago, still a radiant looking lady, that was set in the 1920s. Loved it!

I remember the old avenger series well. Made for some good evening viewing. They don't make them like they used to.
Remember 'The Saint' series, with Roger Moore?

You have that really right Barry, they DO NOT make them like they used to, I loved the Saint and another with Roger in it in The Persuaders with Tony Curtis.

    Classic shows IMO.

I got hooked on The Avengers when I was living with my grandmother back in the early 90's. Absolutely loved it. Those were some very risqe outfits that Mrs. Peel used to wear too. Loved her fashion sense. John Steed, always the proper gentleman too.... *sigh* Although, I have always tried to emulate the true gentleman with my behavior (OK, not always successful, but still tried)

Wow, $180 US, I like the Avengers but not that much. Hmm, I don't remember the Persuaders but those days are hazy at best. :)

Any of you guys see 'The Sweeney'?
    That was great!

The Sweeney (as in Flying Squad), another great British T.V. cop show of the seventies era. Staring John Thaw at his best, as Ragan. About the first U.K. cop show to show it 'how it is', ugly (and sometimes even illegal) side and all.

B.T.W.:- They are talking about making a feature film in 2008, based on the Sweeney series, maybe starring Ray Winstone as Ragan.

That reminds me – anyone recall the old C.I.5 series? Not too bad for its time.

Okay, I guess I should have my say so in this as well. I loved The Avengers even though I don't remember all of them, and I am drooling over the Emma Peel collection (the slimline rather than the first set here in the States) not just because of Diana Rigg mind you. :) I probably wouldn't be happy if I didn't get the complete Avengers on DVD even though I know they won't release all of them (thinking about season 1).

I did know about The Saint and found a pretty good deal on Sets 1 and 5. I didn't care if they were out of order, and I watched them all. Now I want more! I did see both of those shows on BBC America when I had the channel, but I'll get that channel again one day.

I haven't seen The Persuaders myself and have been curious to watch it. I was wondering how The Persuaders compares to the other series. Oh and just for the record I haven't seen much of Danger Man (aka Secret Agent in the US), but I did love Patrick McGoohan in The Prisoner which is also a 60s show. :)

Oh yes, I did love that show, along with the Saint.

I think it is funny how modern remakes usually fall short (excepting the Doctor of course).

I know some people will disagree with you with the remake of Doctor Who. I'm not one of them mind you. :) I am very curious if they do a remake of The Prisoner. I haven't heard much apart from the rumor that Christopher Eccleston being Number 6. I'd rather see what the facts are first, of course.

Check out my initial post here (#1).
The boxed set features all the EMMA PEEL episodes, all 50 of them.
It doesn't, apparently, have the last series that did not feature Emma.
Go to the link I provided for a better explanation. :D Bazza

Oh I know they have all of the Emma Peel episodes for both the original and slimline box sets. The Slimline Emma Peel box set has an additional disk that wasn't included in the original box set. Am I confusing anyone now? BTW, you can get the additional disk separately as well.

What I was mentioning was also getting the episodes with Cathy Gale and Tara Reid. I know we won't see the entire first season with Dr David Keel apart from a few gems which I believe was released. Course I'm also wanting the New Avengers since I wanna see Joanna Lumley in action! :)

Besides I get a lot of my information from tvshowsondvd.com. Granted they are talking about the Region 1 DVDs AFAIK.
