Sweet set of wheels Ace :) Is that a 21 speed?

Going to have to go home tonight and take pics of mine now. I just brought it back from the UK with me at Christmas, having been without it for 18 months, which was hard with all these beautiful mountains out here. It is the most comfortable bike I have owned, suits me perfectly.

How do you get on with the monoshock? I rode a friend's suspended rear suspension bike once...man, that thing made me so nauseous with all it's bobbing up and down.

Its a 24 speed and the key is dampening on the suspension. Most bikes just have a spring with out any kind of dampening rolleyes . The rear shock is coil with air assist over oil dampening. and the front is a gordo 650 fork i rebuilt my self to be air over coil. Its more less a walmart "Mongoose XR200" with ~2500$ dumped into it ;). I mostly ride uban assalt and downhill I will try to get some more pics later today.

I just have front shocks on mine, shimano gears/brakes. It is a G.T Aggressor 3.0 - cost equivalent $600 but they just don't seem to do G.T's over here. I bought it because it was a great fit for me, but actually looking around now, the reviews are pretty awesome on it too. Stock pictures don;t seem to do mine justice, so will take some of my own.

I ride occasionally, will get more into riding as the weather improves. I was riding the 2 miles to and from work until the weather crapped out over here.

Anyone in the CNY area who likes to ride for a good cause, check out www.pedal4medals.org

If you get as far as the photo section, I'm the guy in the EMS shirt who shows up occasionally :) No, I didn't ride the 300miles, but was there to pick up anyone that fell down :)

Definitely don't feel safe on a bike, much rather be on 4 wheels, driving my 306 1.4litre - now been chipped for that extra boost ;)

Riding is the best. Me and some buddies did our first ride of the year last weekend...mostly cross country and some technical downhill, I do more watching than participating with regards to the technical part. Something to do with getting too casual and hitting a tree last year. I'll post a pic of my bike tomorrow.

Neat pics ACE. I didn't get around to taking photos last night...will try to at the weekend, if the sunshine ever returns!

ONe of the guys on the Ride last year had one similar to that, but with Handlebars on it. He swore by it. Persnoally, I would have a hard time getting used to that style. too many years riding regular :)

I've rode regular bikes for ever, but a life time of abuse makes it really hard on my shoulders to ride a bike anymore.

USS (under seat steer) recumbent bikes are easy on the shoulders and way safer to ride than a conventional bike, and there is a certain geek appeal to it

Use mine simply as a means of transport, only cost me £80.

There are times I miss my car, mainly when I have to move stuff:

    Nice wheels ACE. :)

I currently have three bikes - a Claud Butler, a Peugeot and a George Longstaff (hand built and cost me nigh on £1200 about 5 years ago). The Claud and the Longstaff are touring bikes (though I don't use them as such) and the Peugeot is a stripped down sporty thing. :)

Wow, Bike Geeks! I am taking my bike to the shop to get a tune up. Yeah, I could do it. I could also tighten my A/C belt on my truck and a lot of other stuff. If I spend a little cash on the bike, maybe it will help motivate me to get on it and ride, I am way out of shape.

The bike: 1992 (I think) Kona Kilawaya (sp). I put some cash into it over the years. Got a Rock Shox Judy front shock, Shimano Deore XT brakes, Kevlar bead tires, Onza HO pedals, all the stuff that was 'crunk' (that word just cracks me up) back in the '90's.

And the best part, the original thumb shifters. I love them.

I'm just trying to figure out how the heck you manage to ride that thing with a huge chunk of PVC stuck to one side and a bucket bag on the other....

of course, I used to ride for Parks here with all sorts of EMS equipment on saddlebags (almsot 40 lbs of it), so I guess i can't talk, but that was situated over the back wheel, so it wasn't too bad. I do miss that bike tho. love the all terrain specials, need to get anopther one one of these days.

Come to think of it... hey Rex.. do you walk bowlegged from all that?? LOL

Old bike. New bike. I like them both. I like the steel frame on the Kona. However I ride the Norco most of the time now because of front suspension and disc brakes.

I have to admit, that time I was freewheeling downhill after collecting that stuff. I have pedalled it with 2x 9foot sections of timber on the side. All was fine until I realised that when I stopped at a junction, I had 3ft of wood sticking out into the road!

I have a older Peugeot, that a buddy gave me…..it’s a mountain bike….but I turned it into a hybrid, changed the handlebars, from the flat bar, to a high rise, like you find on a bmx bike…..did the chain….bought two wheels, from ebay…..changed the rear derailleur…..then added two Armadillos from Specialized slicks…..the area that I live in has a weed called star thistle, both when green, and dry, the needles will puncture most tires…

…since I got glaucoma in 1999, I have no side vision, like looking thru the paper towel cardboard….have stop driving a car….my bike is my main way to move about the city….wobbles

You know, the funny thing about that bike is I tried to sell it on Ebay before I left the UK. Final buyer messed me around so it got stored. I tried to buy a replica one in the US and couldn't as it fits me perfectly in every way and I love it. So I brought i back at Christmas with me. Now going to ride it today I see it has a huge sticker near the chain stating "Designed in the USA" LOL...so why can't you buy them here?

I don't think so..I can't find it anywhere out here as I considered buying it again, as importing was going to cost almost as much as the bike did. But as I couldn't find it out here I brought it over as excess baggage on the flight for just $80 ;)

This is my Trek. It's not the newest bike here but it is 21 speed and dependable. Got a lot of miles on it.;) And because Lev added a scenic view, I thought I would, too.:cool That's our downtown from across the lake
