Free Computer Tutorials?

Hi

My friend who has zero experience with a PC would like to learn how to use a computer but doesn't want to get ripped off and pay for a course if there is a good free alternative.

Does anybody know of any links or companies that offer PC training? Video training with exercises would be ideal, like Lynda.com but free??

i just payed for a dvd tutorial for my niece and it's not as good as that:cry
