I printed, read, and followed your "Read & Run Me First" guide exactly. When my browser continued to open windows on it's own, I decided to follow your "No HijackThis Log Files Until You Read This" thread, which I did, to the tee. I then had my log analysed by "HijackThis Analyser" which is listed in your
"Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis" guide. It said there were a couple of malware items in my log and told me to get rid of them, which I did with HijackThis, however, unfortunately my problem still exists.

I'd appreciate any assistance I can get. My log file is attached.

    Thank you

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

No you did not follow it to a tee. The very first paragraph says the below:
Notice that it points you back to the READ & RUN ME FIRST! You must follow those steps.

Most people are under the very mistaken misconception that HijackThis is a scanning/removal tool. It is not! HijackThis is simply a tool that is used to identify browser hijackers and in some cases it will show entries for some malware that is for instance running at startup. All it does is list a few of the thousands of registry keys that exist, and it makes no inferences to whether anything being shown is good or bad. That decision is left a person with significant Windows and malware cleaning experience. HijackThis does not come close to showing all malware that could be hiding on a PC. Anyone who has an infected computer and is relying on HijackThis without the benefit of running other scans such as Spybot, Windows Defender, BitDefender & Panda, CCleaner, etc. are more than likely still infected. In most cases, where there is one virus/trojan there are more. The goal of this forum is to remove all malware, and this cannot be done properly by just seeing a HijackThis log.

Part of your problem is a Virtumonde (aka Vundo trojan) and the READ & RUN ME also has a link to a Special Removal Procedure thread which will give you a link to a Virtumonde procedure. This special procedure should be run too. While it will not always fix all the problems due to Vundo, it will often reduce the manual cleaning that may be required. In addtion to the 6 logs requested in the READ ME, you should also attach the VundoFix log.
