All I can say is that Digital Dave's avatar rings a bell...not really sure where I saw it before. But that little fellow is kinda cute!:D Oh, and I am hanging on to XP for as long as I can

Like many things Microsoft, their are always rumours, stories and guesses... easy to wait until its announced officially ;)

Although SP1 for Vista will be released this year as it will form the basis of Server 2007 as they share the same codebase, TAP customers will be testing this now.

Windows XP well it was on the timetable to be retired in 2008, but possible as Vista was late and many business customers have not apopted Vista yet until SP1 is proven, its a guess on my part they will extend this date, or alienate customers, they cannot aford this.

The XP Death is only that you will not be able to buy it OEM ( Jan 08 )or Retail ( Feb 08 ) you may until stocks run out as you can still get other old MS windows versions still today.

It does not mean that in 2008 your version of previously bought XP will case to work, just means you cannot buy it from OEMs or many Retailers.

Yes because it also has slipstreamed in the one pack both x86 and x64 updates to Vista, and is Full Vista AP version over a update version which are generally smaller size but need a full pervious version to be present, XP version of AP is x86 only, last XP Full version of AP which is NOV06 is 330mb in size, then add on the DEc, Jan and Feb updates ( the Vista one will in time grow larger than the XP one in a shorter time as core applications are larger )

When Vienna is released under its final name it too will have larger updates.

Dont see why not, it will likely either come in these ways, order CD, come on magazine or download ( full or via WU ).
