    Hi guys & gals.

Trying to do a favor for some family friends. They need me to burn them a song onto CD to be used at an Elemntary School Event....

I've found the song on Itunes, now I need to know how I can burn it onto a CD that could be read by a CD player....

The CD Burning Software that I use is CD Burner XP Pro... It doesn't appear to support Itunes format files....

So I need to know how i can get this song onto a CD... Can I burn a CD with Itunes software, if so, how??

Any help is greatly appreciated... Thank you.

File> New Playlist (Give it a title when prompted, like you would a new folder in Windows Explorer).

Drag the song you want to the playlist you just created.

Right click on new playlist and select "Burn playlist to disc" ...insert disk and follow burn instructions. iTunes burnt CDs should play fine on most stereos

Why not use iTunes to burn the audio CD? CD Burner XP Pro or any other CD burning program will not work with songs from the iTunes store. They have Fairplay DRM to prevent unauthorized use. Only iTunes will work with music purchased from the iTunes store. How to do it: http://docs.info.apple.com/article.html?artnum=93353

Going to have to disagree with you here Just Playin, as I have downloaded many tunes from iTunes store and burnt them in the way I describe below to CD and played them in the house CD player and the car CD player with no problems. The house CD player is not sophisticated or mp3 compatible either.

You misunderstood. When you used iTunes to burn them to an audio CD, the files were converted to a the CDDA format, which is the file format for the audio CD. Once it is burnt onto an audio CD, it's a different story. iTunes Store music is in the .m4p format, which is a Fairplay DRM encrypted audio file. These will not play in any other media player except iTunes nor can they be converted to any other format, including audio CD, except with iTunes. For example, they cannot be used to make an audio CD with CD Burner XP Pro as ADHEDONIC attempted. Fairplay DRM prevents this. That was my point.

Hi guys... Thanks for the help...

The songs wouldn't burn onto a blank CD-R...

I followed the instructions closely and no luck... Now is the problem rooted with the songs, the CD-R, or the computer's burner?

It would ask for the CD, I'd insert the CD, and i'd hit BURN again and it would just spit the CD out...

I'm stabbing a guess that this is now a hardware issue and you need to either make a post in the hardware forum or ask the mods to move this thread over for you? I haven't had this issue and have been able to burn CDs with no problems this way onto CD-R.

MP3 encoding is available free with Windows Media Players 10 and 11. My preference is WMP 10, but their are more formats available with WMP 11.
