A.v.g. Anti Spyware

    I recently decided, after seeing it for the first time on Major Geeks, to download A.V.G. ANTI SYWARE. It downloaded fine, ran a scan, found a few minor promlems, and then when I attempted to acess it again my p.c. froze. I was forced to shut down manualy and reboot. Again I tryed to run it via the desktop shortcut, and I again froze up. Did I do something wrong with the installation? WAT COULD BE UP? thanks in advance ironhead

    by the way I have since uninstalled it and I have not had a problem sense.
    I tend to beleive that I did something wrong, but what?

    I'm not sure what your problem was! Do you have other antispyware tools installed? If so, which ones? What antivirus program are you using?

    sorry took a while, I am running AVG FREE, SPYBOT, ADAWARE SE FREE, ccleaner, registry mechanic (paid) Zonealarm free.

    Only Spybot, Ad-Aware SE, and SpywareBlaster are antispyware tools. And as long as you did not have Spybot's Teatimer enabled, none of them provide any active protection, thus they would not cause any problems for AVG AntiSpyware.

    Have you run full system scans with Ad-Aware SE and Spybot?
    Do they run all the way thru?

    Uninstall AVG Antispyware, reboot (do not skip the reboot), after reboot reinstall AVG AntiSpyware. Does it work now? If not, try a scan in safe mode to see if it works there.

    sorry took so long I have been ill. O.K. I downloaded avg anti-spyware again and it loaded and scanned, but now it says that I need to update. When I try to update it says server not ready to serve? Thats a new one Thanks again,Ironhead

    I'm not sure what your problem is. You could just try again is you like but I'm not sure why you are still trying to use it. Unless you plan on buying it, your trial period is already over and it is olnly a scanner now which provides no malware blocking.
