MG Rankings?

Can anyone explain how we get our Rankings?
Some are Private, some Corporal or Major Geek - how does this work?
Me : I am a Senior Member LOL
I feel like I am a senior citizen before my time!!

 

From what i understand it has to do with how many posts you make and if you are permitted in the malware removal forum but no doubt someone will come on and lay it out correctly confused

Hehe, I used to be #2 behind Lev and now I'm not even in the top 10, someone deleted the box history recently. It's OK, I don't put any worth on post count or spamming or titles. Been here long enough to realize that it doesn't matter.

To be honest I dont care much how many posts I have or how many shouts I have. Im nearly 25 not two. They can all be cleared as far as I am concerned! I just like to try and help if I can as people are nice enough to help me.

I like that the ranks here dont go by hours spend on the site like the last fourm i went to did well it did both hours online and post it was a combo

 

Well, now you've done it. It could be a matter of time.

 

Since everyone's OT here, I like to use the compressed gas(it's not air) and have the vacuum hose close to the action, saves time when cleaning up the floor/table though be careful and not get the hose nozzle too close to the boards either, I heard there could be static electricity built up. Is it true or not, someone else will have to answer that.

Now back to the regularly scheduled post.

 

Glad to know Senior Member doesn't have anything to do with my age, although I do have a senior moment occasionally. Thanks for the (?) Grumbles, something I had wondered about, but never thought to ask.

Funny, when I was "promoted" (wink/wink-nod/nod) to "Specialist", it was without the "quotation marks" (that I just added to it - as in simply: Specialist).

Now, I had never much noticed that I had "moved-up" in "Rank" (though it was clear to me that I was posting A LOT - as I cycle myself into rather "manic" technical frenzies!), but when I noticed the word Specialist next to my username/handle (whatever it's called), I was CERTAIN that it was a "play on words" (as in - wink/wink-nod/nod - and perhaps a bit sarcastic - which actually would have been fine with me) ... then (eventually) realized that it must simply be a matter of the number of posts I had made.

However then I thought; 'they really OUGHT to put the quotation marks around that word in my case - so no one (new) gets the "wrong idea" - AND as a bit of sarcasm ... surely, there should be an *asterisk* or some sort of footnote or something to MY "Rank".

I had originally thought that "grc123" ("simple") was a clear indication (or enough of a hint) of my confidence level as goes technology. And now I am POSITIVE that I chose the correct username!!!

 

I had the best. but it just deleted itself somehow. Kodo, could you fix it?

Yeah, I STILL should be a "Private", as in: 'keep it to your (my) self - bub'! Or maybe Private PAIN - as in the PAIN which I have surely caused some the good folks here ...

Don't know about others,but I would rather be here for years to make Corporal by helping others,than by just posting just for the count. Much more satisfying that way.(I don't count this one.)
