small harddrive should be big.

    i have a 80 gb harddrive it shows 12 gb i know it has ubunthu on it but i cant get to hit to dele it.windows only shows 12 gb it is windows 2000 pro. how can i get the other partions off?so i can have my whole hard drive .if i format drive want it just format 12 gb?windows wont see the linux on the harddrive.

    Select and Delete the larger partition before format, during installation. That should give you your single 80GB partition back.

    As bugbalou says - I believe it can be done in 2000, as it can in XP - When you put in the the 2000 disc, and you get set up options, it should ask where you want to install- if it does not, can you borrow an XP disc, and delete the partition with that ?
