Here are the "before" and "after" pics so far.....2nd coat of paint to go on tomorrow. It's hard to see from photos just how disustingly dirty and worn the 'before' really is...

roflmao.....we were looking for some new lights out front...that should do it! Can you re-design our front yard geek-style too? We're planning that for the fall

 

Hehe......we already have lillies in the front yard...I'll suggest my husband lay around near them. Ohhhhh...you mean old COMPUTER hardware

I thought I was the only one that did stuff like that. I have old P.C. mainboards, heat-sinks etc, on shelves and furniture in my house ~ Then again, I am kinda strange. D

Nice renovation job ya got there, Lev. just need some light green and the M.G. logo, and yer good to go.

 

add some real class. you've got the dog, put an old refrigerator or upright freezer between the garage door and big window along with a milk crate to sit on. quit painting and do not remove the paper masking from the windows. sit out front on the crate in your underwear with a big ol' rifle on your lap waiting for something to move in the yard and voila......instant southern mansion.

 

Looking good Lev. If interested in suggestions: trailing plants up posts, landscaping with garden lighting would really show off the house. But then depends on type of look you're after.

Actually I have got rid of trailing plants up posts, as they encourage spiders. I got sick of having to keep a long bit of 2x2 in the house and brandish it as I tried to get to my car each morning to go to work. The neighbors, of course, couldn;t see the spiders, and just thought this crazy English woman with a funny morning ritual lived across the street

Hanging baskets will probably happen, and when we put the front yard in it will be simple on maintenance, mostly lawn, as we have enough going on round the backyard. A few planters round the front - easy on the knees for weeding, will throw some color out there.

Today it is raining and it isn't meant to be (Welcome to Oregon) so hopefully we will get the next coat of paint on this afternoon!

 

All sounds good Lev. You won't know the place once you finish. (Know what you mean about spiders......Birds swipe any in front/back yards, so I never worry.)

With all the planting happening in the backyard, why don't you mulch/compost cuttings for laying on garden beds...cuts down weeds while providing fertiliser/nutrients to soil. I have large compost bin hidden down back and it breaks contents down every couple of weeks...good stuff. Soil loves it while retaining moisture. Sounds like you've got everything under control and well planned out.:highfive

The colour of the posts looks really good Lev. Is the rest getting painted?
I also like the "bulletin boards" decor.

 

We have a large compost bin in the back yard

@ Sibeer...what do you mean "is the rest getting painted?". It is painted It used to be a dirty light gray, now it is a clean light green. See the photos in the first post LOL

 

Oops, so it is . Umm my monitor...the light in this room is bad...how about those Anaheim Ducks?
