I think that I just witnessed a UFO zooming across the sky near here 5 minutes ago. It was not a satellite either as it was going too fast. Too fast for any plane or jet!
It was the size of the stars that you see at night and high up.

Cool, grumbles. And yes, I have seen 3,actually more if you count the several I saw at once.
1963 or '64- I was 9 and in Argentia, Newfoundland, when a friend and I saw 2 bright lights come over a hill. Soon, several small lights left the bigger ones and did a dance similar to a dog fight. It was also seen by several of our parents and other adults. My dad knew some of the guys in the control tower (this was a Naval air station). They said no radar sightings that night. :eek

    Same years, same place-
I saw a large black object flash across the sky. It moved faster than I could follow it.:eek

    1987-
I saw what I thought was a sattelite, while looking at the comet Kohotek, It was moving very fast and took a right turn. Sattelites don't do that, do they?

    Hey Musky :wave
Satellites do take right turns, do the loop, stop dead and land on earth now and again - according to the Military/government :D

What responses did you get from the experts on your sightings :)
    Cheers

I never talked to any experts, grumbles. Just chalked up to the unknown. Besides I would have been told it was swamp gas. :D My mom and dad still talk about the first oneto this day.

Um...I think I saw something once when on holidays in Queensland. I was having breakfast on the balcony looking out to sea when suddenly I saw this incredible glow getting bigger and bigger on the horizon. Oh that's right. It was an incredible sunrise and I had a late night:D

Seriously though, if you really saw something, someone else must have as well. Any reports?

    Cheers

Yeh I have, its was wierd enough for me and other people to stop get out of the car point and look,it was a strange orange ball just floating at about 10000 feet near local mast,it could have been a helicopter or a flare but it stayed in the air too long to be flare and was too bright to be a helicopter light,my guess it was some kind of balloon someone launched with a bright light underneath for a prank

Its one of my pastimes looking up and walking into lamposts:D you probably saw the international spacestation its as bright as a star and goes horizon to horizon in acouple of minutes much faster than a plane and you can tell its much higher,I'v seen it once and I thought it was UFO,for a split second :D

EDIT How long did it take to go from horizon to horizon if it wasnt the spacestation,or did you only see it for a short time,if you only saw it for a short time it was probably a small object entering the atmosphere confused

While were on the subject I'll tell you about the shooting star I saw I came out of the front door and just looked up as I did a bright green meteor lit up as it hit the atmosphere and burned for about 3 seconds,it looked really close like a green flare but way too high up and for a split second I could see the whole of the smoke trail from it wandering off into space lit up green

    It was cool:cool

I had forgotten a prank, that we pulled while I was in the Navy. My ship was docked a short ways across the San Diego Bay from North Island Naval Air Station. We got a dry cleaning bag, put kite sticks as crossbars at the bottom to keep the bag open, set a lit candle on the crossbars, attached some streamers of tin foil on it, and let it float off like the home made hot air ballon it was. It caused quite a commotion at the air base. :D
I hope the of limitations is up on that one.LOL
Kids do not try this at home. I am a trained professional!!!!

    :D Understand.

You obviously believe you did. So why don't you call/write in to a newspaper agency giving as much information as possible, asking if anyone had reported it. (I reckon there's a good chance someone else saw what you did at the same time.) If they get enough people making enquiries, the newspaper will do a follow up (so they can get to look :foolish foolish instead if it turns out to be some weather/military gadget:D)

    Cheers

I've seen a UFO. I'll get this out of the way right away...yes I was drinking. However it was witnessed by my daughter who was about six at the time. We had a party at our house, and everyone was outside because of an approaching storm to watch the lightning. Suddenly my daughter points straight up and say's "What's that Daddy"? My friends and I look up and see something with lights around the perimeter in and out of the clouds above hovering, soundless. We stared at it for awhile, then it shot off just below the cloud toward the mountains, hovered for a few seconds then...gone.

About 15 years ago, something hovered outside our house and lit the whole place up with a blinding white light. There was also this defining whining hum that disappeared just as fast as it appeared.

About 7 years ago, the very same thing happened. Except this time it was on the side of the house, instead of the front. Same blinding light, same defining sound.

Five years ago we moved from IL to IN, and about 7 months into the house, a white light lit up the inside of the house, and the noise returned. It lasted for two or three minutes, and the light was so bright that I couldn't see what it was. I was also covering my ears with my hands because of the sound.

So far, that's been it. I haven't had any little gray men come running around and I really can't explain what it was that hovered outside my house three times in fifteen years. All i know is that it happened, it scared the sh^t out of me, and I hope it doesn't happen again.

Hum, the description seems to fit, but wiki says they only last a few seconds. All of my events were over a period of a few minutes. It could have been some type of electrical event, but it's weird that it would happen to my three times in a short period in two different locations.

About 12 years ago, while standing outside of my house in the country, (not the same place as now) I looked up into the sky, to look at the stars. Since I've always been kinda interested in astronomy and space in general, this wasn't something uncommon for me to do. On that particular night, though, I noticed some slow-moving lights off toward the horizon. At first, I figured it was a plane, and didn't think much of it. But, it seemed to be speeding up, little by little, and getting closer and closer, until it was almost directly overhead. Here, I got a pretty good look at the craft: Triangular, and very large, with small white lights at all three corners and one big, reddish-orange light in the middle on the bottom. All of a sudden, it stopped for what seemed like about 15 or 20 seconds, then it just shot off, as if out of a slingshot, and was nearly instantly gone. I've never seen one, that I know of, since.
That's my own experience. However, my mom claims she had seen a silver saucer silently hovering over her house one time as a child. And she and my stepfather, on their way home from a friend's house, had to pull over onto the side of the road, along with about 10 other vehicles, because there was a very low-moving craft, about the size and approximate shape of a house, rotating and with many lights all around the outside, was moving along the highway they were driving on. Everyone, they said, was out of their vehicles, just watching in awe at this encounter. And later, a UFO documentary on The Discovery Channel actually had a piece about that particular craft traveling through the midwest, specifically Missouri and Illinois, so with that and the other eyewitnesses, I definitely couldn't dispute what they were saying.
