i have done the above suggestion but was concerned that the hijack this report is so long. fyi - i run windows 200 pro, norton AV, AVG anti-spyware and zone alarm ez firewall. is there anything on the hijack this report that should be deleted? and quite honestly, not sure what items to delete in the startup function in ccleaner.

You certainky have some stuff running that you don't need at startup, kodak and the java updater standout.

However I would say that your system is yop heavy with anti-stuff, do you really need all those scanners and firewalls, they must slow things down significantly.

I would make a list of security programs and ditch the duplicates. You could save money by striking out the paid for ones. You can choose perfectly adequate freeware at MG for all security needs.

If someone hacked you in the past you certainly need to be serious about security.
This involves taking a long hard look at the way you operate your systems.
Unfortunately once hacked you remain a target so need to make extra provisions.

Do you know not to operate your pc as administrator in normal use, especially on the internet or email?
I assume you have changed all your passwords AND Internet Provider?
Are you also now using router containing a hardware firewall?

Normally the object of these forums is to let everyone see how the fix is achieved so I would ask for details of your system. However I think in this case I will keep that part unsaid.

@@I also recommend the moderator removes you Hijack this log. @@

Send me a private message if you wish.

What do you think he would tell you that would make him any more a target than anyone else? (No sarcasm... curiousity)

I'm even more curious about the motives behind this request. Pleae explain.

Let's leave the inquest until after we know what Fred wants to do.

thanks for the feedback and concern. yes all passwords, accounts and service provider were changed. i didn't mean to get everyone so worked up, just want my pc to function more smoothly. in the past i have used this site and everyone has been very helpful and that is why i posted the hijack log. after following previous recommendations i was able to get my machine to fly. so my ultimate goal is to save my limited memory resources for things i want to do and keep all the crap from hogging resources. so if i should shut down things other than java updater and kodak's software, i'd love to hear it. otherwise, i'll go away and have to accept the limited resources that i have. thanks again for all the feedback.

You can probably do without Bonjour too. I'd imagine it was installed when the Kodak software was installed.

No,Bonjour is with ITunes and you can safely delete from the Startup.Go to Services and stop Kodak and Nvidia Driver Helper and set them to Manualy.Go to control panel>Regional and Language options>Language>Details>Advanced>and check(Turn off Advanced text services. This is for ctfmon.exe.Good luck
