Russian tunnel motoring crashes video

Now I've got Broadband going at ADSL1 speeds, I just watched that Russian tunnel crash video, at Broadband speeds instead of dialup.

What sort of road surface does that tunnel have? Cars are sliding before crashing!

(Their road authority needs to be checking road surface and perhaps lowering the speed limit.)

 

Apparently it's a tunnel under a river in Moscow which has minor leaks in several places so that the road surface is always wet. During the winter the surface freezes with pretty dire results.

 

Unbelievable!

Given the danger presented to the public using that tunnel with this problem, I'ld be gunning after the authorities!

True. But check out the video. I could only spot one car changing then going into a skid. The rest just look to be skidding! :eek

According to Scousetechie minor leaks cause constant wet surfaces which also in Winter causes the surface to freeze. (Prime factor for skidding.)

Well the bus driver could always put a sign up front saying: "New Luna Park ride! Get your tickets now!"*:foolish*

Perhaps the revenue raised from those tickets could go towards fixing those leaks!




(Luna Park is an amusement park on Sydney Harbour with fun rides - though not as scary as that bus ride!:eek)
