False Positive?

    I scanned a file with Virus Total (i tried to uplaod it here i got an error from this site saying invalid file) it's supposed to remove dupe entrys from text files...every single anti Virus engine found the file clean with the exception of Ikarus T3.1.1.8 06.08.2007 which found Trojan-Downloader.Win32.IstBar.IS...is this a false positive?

    I have no idea what you are referring to! What file/program are you talking about?

    You cannot attach EXE files here since they could cause infections!

    The software is called

    Remove (Delete) Duplicate Lines & Words in Text Files Software 7.0, and yes it is a exe file, sorry.

    As I said in my last message:

    We cannot guarantee whether a program download from another site is clean!

    No problem! Just remember two point:
    • just because those online scans (like Virus Total) say a file is okay does not mean it is 100% okay
    • also just be cause they say something is detected, does not mean it is really a problem (i.e, there are many false positived).
