    Back in January you were here an I had you remove all the Tencent stuff. Why did you reinstall it again? You are making things difficult for you and for us. It is a waste of our time to clean your PC up if you are just going to reinstall the same stuff again.

    I refer to the below in your newfiles.txt log:
    Uninstall all of this and delete this file: D:\Backup\qq2007beta1.exe
    DO NOT install this anymore.

    Also uninstall Powerword 2006 which is consider adware.

    Also in my final instructions to you I said to follow the steps in this link: How to Protect yourself from malware!

    This link specifically tells you that the Windows Firewall does not provide adequate protection and that you need to install a different firewall to replace. You did not do this either. You need to do this now and install one of the recommended firewalls. And then it is totally exceptable for the Window Firewall to be diabled because you would no longer care about it.

    What is the Report-scan.... log from? Sorry but it is not a proper log and we need logs to be in English in order for us to help you.

    As far as Windows Update is concerned, make sure you have enabled it to work how you want it to work. It is does not work, you will have to address that in the Software Forum since there are many many reasons for it not to work properly and most are not due to malware.

    Also delete the below infected files:
    C:\Downloads\software\ACDSee Pro v9.0¼òÌåÖÐÎľ«×°°æ\ACDSee_9.0.55_cn.exe
    C:\Program Files\ACDSee\ebay.exe
    C:\Program Files\Kingsoft\PowerWord 2006\Regbaidu.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\Installer\55a582.msi

    Do you have any idea what the below file is related too? Most (not all) AppInit_DLLs entries are malware.
    O20 - AppInit_DLLs: atlpri.dll

    My apologies. Actually this is a different computer when I work in China. Will get back to you in couple of days because I'm back to HK now.

    - will do later.

    will do later.

    I'm sorry but it was clean.

    - already deleted the files manually after the online Panda scan.

    - no idea. Haved also tried to fix this line with HJT but not successful.

    See if you can put a copy of the C:\windows\system32\atlpri.dll file into a ZIP file and attach it here.

    Additonal information - when i try to fix the line 020, i was prompted with the following message "An unexpected error has occured at procedure: modBackup_makeBackup (sItem=020_AppInit_DLLS: atlpri.dll) error#5

    Also i'm now trying to test the performance of different firewall to see which one is more suitable for me. When instaling SkyNet firwewall (developed by a chinese vendor), i was prompted that a firewall is already running and i was forced to cease the installation. It's rare! I know i haven't installed any firewall in my computer. It's ok when i try to install Outpost or ZoneAlarm. Should i address this issue to the Software Forum.

    Thank you for your help in advance.

    We only recommend using one of the firewalls recommended in step 3 of the below. If you already have one of them installed, you should not be trying to install another. ONLY ONE software firewall should be installed at anytime. Any good firewall will automatically disable the Windows built-in firewall.

    That at;pri.dll is a password stealing trojan. See: http://vil.nai.com/vil/content/v_100683.htm
    http://www.trendmicro.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/default5.asp?VName=TROJ_PWSLEGMIR.E

    Now download The Avenger by Swandog46, and save it to your Desktop.
    • Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop
    • Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    • Check the 'Input script manually' box.
    • Click on the magnifying glass icon.
    • Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it in the box that opens:
    • Now click the 'Done' button.
    • Click on the traffic light icon and OK the prompt.
    • You will be prompted to restart, OK the prompt and your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    • A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt
    Now run Ccleaner!

    Now attach the below new logs and tell me how the above steps went.

    1. Avenger
    2. ShowNew
    3. HJT

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    You did not uninstall the below items yet! They are in you ShowNew log. Why not?

    "DisplayName"="Powerword 2006"
    "DisplayName"="QQ ?????"
    "DisplayName"="QQ??"
    "DisplayName"="QQ????"
    "DisplayName"="QQ?????"
    "DisplayName"="QQ?????"
    "DisplayName"="QQ??????"
    "DisplayName"="QQ??????"
    "DisplayName"="QQ??????(???)"
    "DisplayName"="QQ?????7.1Beta02"
    "DisplayName"="QQ2007 Beta1"

    Uninstall all of this QQ and Tencent and Powersword stuff now.

    Run HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

    O20 - AppInit_DLLs: atlpri.dll

    NOTE: HJT may popup an error about the AppInit_DLLs line. Ignore it and click OK to continue.

    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

    Now attach the below new logs and tell me how the above steps went.

    1. GetRunKey
    2. ShowNew
    3. HJT

    Make sure you tell me how things are working now!

    Will uninstall these stuff as soon as I travel back to China. During the past few days, I'm using the remote access to the machine from HK.

    - have fixed this line with HJT last night right after The Avenger. And yes, an error popup and the line has gone.

    Will attach the new logs when I'm back to home tonight.

    FYI, the Window Secuity Centre is now back to normal. :D Many thanks for your time and effort Chaslang, really appreciate it.;)

    Okay a new registry key has appeared that is related to the atlpri.dll file. Now that the file is deleted, the registry key shows.

    Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    Now attach another new log from GetRunKey.

    You forgot the log. Please attach it now and then continue on to the below.

    If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. If we used Pocket Killbox during your cleanup, do the below
      • Run Pocket Killbox and select File, Cleanup, Delete All Backups
    2. If we used ComboFix, you can delete the ComboFix.exe file, C:\ComboFix folder, C:\QooBox folder, and the C:\combofix.txt log that was created.
    3. If we user SDFix you can delete all the SDFix related files and folders from your Desktop or whereever you installed it.
    4. If we used VundoFix, you can delete the VundoFix.exe file and the C:\VundoFix Backups folder and C:\vundofix.txt log that was created.
    5. If we had your run FixWareOut, you can delete the Fixwareout.exe file and the C:\fixwareout folder.
    6. If we had you run Avenger, you can delete all files related to Avenger now.
    7. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    8. You can delete the ShowNew.Zip and GetRunkey.Zip files and the files that you extracted from the ZIP files. You can also delete the C:\newfiles.txt and C:\runkeys.txt logs that were created
    9. If you are running Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
      • go back to step 8 of the READ & RUN ME to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
      • Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    10. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:
