Funny, the steps you've taken SHOULD have helped out, so I'm curious if there is some deeper problem!

Have you tried using CCleaner? I'm uncertain how exactly the steps you've taken work, but I do know that CCleaner deletes the entry right out of the registry. If this fails, I would suspect that you have a registry permissions/corruption issue. Let us know how it goes.

You can also find other PC speedup instructions at this link. (This also contains instructions on using CCleaner to manage startup items if you have any difficulty)

not sure what you mean with the cc cleaner mada ??.
ive tried shutting it off with winpatrol just keeps popping back up again. thanks for getting back to me. ps my computer should be at least running at 6 to 8 meg , its running below 4ish now. thanks again

CCleaner has a utility to manage startup programs, much like MSCONFIG and WinPatrol. It's really just another way of doing the same thing.

Since I'm more familiar with how CCleaner works than I am with MSCONFIG and WinPatrol, CCleaner's success or failure would be indicative of where your issue lies with stopping jusched.exe. Right now, I'm thinking either there's an issue within MSCONFIG and WinPatrol, or perhaps a registry issue. CCleaner would help clarify the situation for me and hopefully anyone else with advice to offer (or, if we're lucky, it may correct your issue outright).

MSCONFIG will definitely stop jusched if used correctly, however if you have done it with ccleaner so well and good.

However if you are looking to revitalise a flagging pc that is slowing down Mada is super correct in saying to look elsewhere. jusched is not harmful , not necessary, and removing it from startup will not gain much, unless of course you have a contaminated version.

Post the size of your file and windows version. Also Where is jusched being called from?

Also post details of the real problem if you would like more help.

Yuck. Now that ALL THREE have failed, I'm starting to strongly suspect a registry issue.

Can you please try the following:

    1. Hit windows key + r (or click Start --> Run)
    2. In the 'Run' dialog, type 'regedit' (without the quotes)
    3. Press enter (or click 'OK')
    4. In the registry editor, navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run

Here, you should see a list of programs set to run at startup. We're interested in the entry for jusched.exe. For safety's sake, you can follow these steps to back this entry up.

    1. Select the 'jusched.exe' entry.
    2. Select 'Export' from the 'File' menu
    3. Select a safe location to save the file

Now that you have a backup, attempt to delete the entry. You can do this by right-clicking and selecting 'Delete'

Post back with any error messages you might encounter.

IF YOU TICK ANYTHING IN MSCONFIG YOU ENABLE IT

Computers are incredibly dumb beasts - they require every little thing to be specific and above all accurate. Mere humans, I know, are not like this. But in order to deal with computers we have to act like them.

Please don't keep saying I've done this and it didn't work. You haven't answered my questions - they were designed to obtain helpful information.

It is just possible you have a virus contaminated version of jusched or something.

It is also possible that you are using the tools incorrectly. This is why it is useful to describe exactly what you did and exactly what happened.

You still haven't answered the questions!

In MSCONFIG, if you return to the general tab after removing the ticks, the ticks will be reset.
There may also be more than one instance of jusched listed.

    Try this

Go to the startup tab in msconfig
    Select disable all
    click apply
    Restart

    Nothing more, nothing less.

Exactly what happens when you restart, Does MSCONFIG appear with a message?

I have attached two pics of msconfig.

The first shows the general tab of msconfig.
Note you have to set the radio button selective startup.
I have also chosen to stop (not load) all startup items.

the second shows the startup tab

Here none of the items are ticked.

If you click apply, then ok you should get a message from msconfig to say that you have to restart for the changes to take effect.

    so restart.

When you restart, if you wait for a while, the last thing to appear on the desktop will be a notice from msconfig followed by the general tab.

If this does not happen try it again in safe mode.
Enter safe mode by rebooting and tapping the F8 key repeatedly during boot, before windows starts.
    choose safe mode.

If this does not happen in safe mode you have a virus, some can prevent msconfig from working but I have never seen one that lets you see it as well.

    Preferably in safe mode

make sure explorer is set to show hidden files

    do a search for

    ntsysman.exe
    syslog32.exe

These are known to subvert msconfig.

In the long run you will have to head over to the malware forum.

What I am now suggesting is aimed at giving you a flying start by getting better control of your pc.

You may get msconfig to work by using system restore to go back in time to an earlier setting.

Whether this helps or not you need to start on the malware forum.

    Sorry bout dat.

hold windows key down and press E

    View>select details

(this will list files for you including sizes. Sizes are important to compare correct file with one contaminated with a virus)

    tools>folderoptions>view
enable show hidden file and folders
Untick hide file extensions for known file types
untick hide protected operating system files

    start>search>all files and folders
enter file name in search box
    click more advanced options
    tick search system folders
tick search hidden files and folders
    tick search subfolders

I'm pretty sure you just have to disable the task scheduler service.

    Cheers.

If you are right I've certainly learned something.

Please show beginners how to do these things next time.

    start>control panel>administrative tools
    click on services
In the right hand pane of the window that opens
    scroll down to task scheduler.
The startup type should be automatic.
You can change this by right clicking on it and choosing for example stop.

Then close the window and try msconfig again.

I'll be real interested to see if this works.

    Go to start>run
    type cmd

enter this into the command prompt

    sc config schedule start= disabled

    reboot your computer

go to the cmd prompt again and type

    sc query schedule

if it says the state is running, well, then something is flipping disabled services back on.
