My laptop keeps getting this BSoD... even in safe mode!

When I turn on my laptop, it automatically asks me if I want to reboot in normal mode, safe mode, last working configuration etc without me hitting F8 even once.

However, no matter what choice I make, it immediately take me to BSoD. Here's the msg:

This scenario happened to me once, and the only thing i could do to get it work was reinstalling the whole OS. The cause was serious viruses. I guess that's what u need to do to your system.:p

    DungDungLee,
reinstalling the OS does solve some problems but should be considered the last resort, not the first.

    coldcell,
if a virus is the cause of your BSOD, it would be better to move your thread to the Malware section. You can ask to have it moved by hitting the little warning symbol up in the upper righthand corner of your post.

Also, try to give a little more info. What kind of computer, what version of windows, do you have anything like a printer hooked up etc.

It's an ASUS laptop. I have no idea what model...

I was using Windows XP and no.. the laptop isnt connected to anything.

Even if the cause is virus, how can I fix it since I cant even enter safe mode.

Do what is says and run check disk.
To do this you will need to boot from the windows cd and use the recovery console.
Any Windows XP cd will do.

Post again if you don't know how to do this.

It is most likely the RAM problem.. ie it being not properly placed.

I switched my hard drives and the problem persists even though the hard drive works fine in another laptop. The problem is, my Asus A2400H doesnt seem to have accessible ram. When I unscrew the back of the laptop, I see.. nothing.

I'm going to post in the hardware section and hope I can get more help there regarding this matter. Thanks for the help so far guys.

You can use this program to test your Memory. Just download the ISO file and burn it to a CD as an image.
