It was probably closed before someone gave you an answer on how to illegally download Win98 and enable others to also get it illegally, as it is not policy here to help software pirates.

I doubt if anyone DID give you an answer. And if there was one, it was deleted.

Yeah, your best off going used. 98 is a fine line, you still should buy it, but its not supported, so I certainly would not pay top dollar. MS should allow free distribution of unsupported operating systems in my opinion.

I paid 10 dollars for the OS today. Same as I would have prob gotten on eBay. And you are soooo right....why are we paying for something MS will not support anyway?

98 SE is good, support for USB 2.0 and many wireless cards/adapters, 98 not so. I have one system that runs 98, and while it is not supported you can still get what updates were available while it was supported. The biggest problem I ran into with 98 was updating Internet Explorer, as the version that came with 98 I couldn't read todays web pages. Then had to download a fix for Windows Update as it thought I was running a Mac. I did enjoy 98 being light on resources and think it is still great for most web browsing. Definitely need to beef up security on an operating system like that. I wish there was a Linux/GNU OS as easy to install and use. Don't forget to visit www.oldversion.com for some software, especially if you are using a slower processor. I should try 98 on one of todays processors/CPU's, the two I've used it on were 199 and 299 MHz.
