    I'd like some comparisons, please.

Check out http://www.majorgeeks.com/Ad-Aware_2007_d506.html for latest update
or MG front page today at www.majorgeeks.com or my listing today at

I'm trying to get some idea of the Broadband speeds I should be getting, I've attached mine. Let us know what DrTcp settings you have, distance to point of download and anything else you deem relevant.

I've visited Internode.com (MG link in Australia) and It is well over 1,000 miles away, even as the crow flies.

I selected the latest version of AdAware as it is a 17 meg download and we can compare apples with apples.

Should result bin interesting comparisons,. Bazza

Busted out the old stopwatch, and downloaded from the Florida mirror.

    Took 24.53 s on a 5 meg connection.

Though, I have to say it'll be hard to get an "apples to apples" comparison! Too many variables! Browser, connection speed, time of day (network congestions), users on the private network, distance from mirror, whether the user has optimized TCP/IP....too much to control.

    Thanks M_M. :major
The apples-to-apples I meant is downloading the same file, from an MG mirror.
    I know all the variables.(:p

You get lots of them trying to access USA websites from Australia for instance.
Even OZ to OZ varies greatly.
But I'd like to know what various MG'ers around the world are getting. Bazza

I was hoping for more to guage some idea of what others are getting with the same program being downloaded.
I know that there is a previous thread on Broadband speeds achieved. Bazza

    Hey bigbazza,
Approximately the same time frame on downloading from a standard Comcast cable connection through a wireless connection - Linksys WMP54GS and Linksys WRT54G router. Default settings on everything.:D
