PC loaded with: WinXP Pro, OfficeXP, IE7.
Anytime I open IE7 (or various other apps) I get Windows Installer popping up and annoying me.

This started right after I uninstalled several old applications. Any suggestions?

    Thanks Geeks!

Do a repair of office through Add/Remove programs.

If it asks for the disk again direct it to i386 in your system 32 folder.

Here's another tip if you reinstall the Office Application. In general, I do this with all Microsoft Office Apps.

Don't install the App directly from the CD. Instead, stop it, create a folder on your hard drive (ex. C:) for the files (name it Office XP Pro, or whatever) go to Explore the CD and copy all files from the CD (make sure you have enabled the viewing of hidden folders) to that folder. Run the Setup.exe file from there.

Basically, you're installing the software from your hard drive now, and if in the future it needs any files, it knows where to get them and can. This should eliminate this problem. ;) Or, well, it has for me in the past.

CD not currently available. It's at my other home 50 miles away. I should have it here later this week if you think it will help the situation.

I believe it will. We use to have that same issue with our mobile users. We discovered that was the best way to install Windows Office Applications. We no longer had any issues with it.

From then on, when ever I work on any of my PCs or anyone else's PC, I make sure I install their Microsoft Office Applications that way. I've been doing this for several years. And I've never heard any of them having any issues with it. Especially the error that you get.

Plus uninstalling the previous one and reinstalling it (the way I instructed) could resolve any corruption that you may or may not have. ;)
