EDIT: Next time you post a link to warez you will be banned.

A post I made was edited and this text was added to it.

There was no mention of who had edited the post, and I didn't receive a PM about it.

So my question is what exactly is warez ? I've had a look through the board index and haven't found any rules about it. If anyone can point me in the direction of any rules about this, I'll be most grateful.

@ Admins / Mods. If in the future you object to anything in one of my posts, that's fine, it won't be taken personally, but a more courteous message than the one quoted above would of course be appreciated.

I saw your post before it was removed. I think the thing the mods had a problem with is you had a link in your response that looked like a legitimate forum thread link, but was actually a zip file with instructions on bypassing something and also a link to a known warez site.

And before you might ask, no, I'm not a mod and did not edit your post.

 

Piracy is illegal, and that is what warez is all about. Therefore, in order to be upright and compliant with the law, this site and most others don't solicit, support, or endorse warez sites and programs.

The reasons you've stated make sense and sound fair to me. If the person who edited my post had explained it in a similar way there would have been no need for this topic, as indeed there was no need for the issuing of threats of a ban, which to be honest is rather an empty threat on the basis that I can use one of my other accounts, or join again if necessary.rolleyes

 

Its not an empty threat. There are various avenues, including IP bans. Entire IP address blocks have been banned before too, for those who dont have static IPs...talking as if its trivial to you doesn't impress the moderators....

Thats said--it wasn't me who made the comment, although Im sure who did. IS there more to this than meets the eye?

 

Entire IP address blocks don't just inconvenience the person targeted for a ban, but potentially other members too.

As far as I'm concerned, the only thing about this is my concern about the lack of courtesy in the wording which was added to my post, and the fact that whoever did it remains anonymous at present.

 

Or they are offline.

 

I'm wondering why you hid a zip file in a link made to look like a link to a forum thread? That can't be done by accident.

And I wouldn't put too much stock in your other usernames; they've dealt with that here before and it's not very difficult to weed out.

It seems to me like it should be. It seems to me its you making the empty threats to simply use your other accounts instead of fallowing the rules (as subtle as it might be). There simple rules and very common no matter what forum you join. Just my 2 cents worth.

Two if we have a problem we PM one of the Mods or M.A. himself as this is his and C.P.'s sight. Three we don't keep pushing our point across, once stated its usually left alone. Four anyone on almost every sight that says they will come back if Banned is Banned and we never see or hear from them again on that or many other sites. If you are banned then it is you who loses, not us. So you have stated your case and your reasons, I would suggest you leave well enough alone, but alas enough damage may already have been done.
