Can't change home page!

    I've tried to change my home page many times. I've updated my iExplorer. I've tried from the program itself. I've tried using "make this my homepage" links. It just never changes. It's stuck on my old ISP home page. I'm now running iExplorer 7.0 on Win XP Pro.
    Any suggestions would be appreciated!

    Have you tried going to the page you want for home page, then click on the url, and hold down mouse,drag to the little hose/home sign, and let go ? This will ask if you want to make it your home page.

    In Internet Explorer go to - Tools, Internet Options, General and click Use Current - do this once you get to the page you want as your home page then click apply. Now close your browser then reopen it, it should go to the new homepage. If it still does change after your reopen your browser I would be suspecting of a Browser Hijacker. Are you running an AntiSpyware program?

    Good thinking as many of them can like Spybot S&D, Spywareblaster, Spysweeper to name a few block changes to the browser as in Homepage settings


    Spybot S&D
    Open Spybot > Mode > Advanced Mode > Tools > IE tweaks and untick the options to lock IE then reboot and change Homepage.

    Spywareblaster
    Open SpywareBaster >Tools > Misc IE Settings and untick Disable the IE homepage settings

    Webroot's Spy Sweeper
    Click on Options > Program Options and uncheck load at windows startup then on the leftside click shields and uncheck everything there
    Uncheck Homepage Shield
    Uncheck Automatically restore default without notification


    Just posted them to pre-empt you using one of them, but if you have other security apps check their menus for blocks/locks to IE settings.
