I can't find the plugins to use with photoshop to work my RAW format from the Panasonic. So, I don't shoot raw any longer. My old sony had a fabulous compression format and even though it is low pixel, the photo's came out better than most of the higher end cameras of the day.

I had a chance to check out the samsung edge, that camera is amazing. I can't imagine how good some of the Canon cameras at Costco would be. My brothers old rebel was and still is amazing.

Another phone pic. Up in the AZ high desert. "The Lake"

And this is a smaller mining truck. I have been working on selective subject matter as well as scenery.

Great angle, there. Wonder what those flowers are? They are gorgeous! Well taken. :)

Thanks K, I believe they are Bird of Paradise (yellow). Poisonous to eat. They grow like weeds, and have knarly spikes, but the hummingbirds love em.

The desert can be quite magnificent. Here is a pic of my ride on scooter yesterday (Tucson). Palo Verde trees in bloom. They produce edible pods, like a pea pod.

These were taken with a "moto e" cell phone, and I size them down over half to post.

I finally was able to browse most of the pictures in this thread. Some of them were quite large and never loaded on my slow internet.

Anyway, thanks for all the remarkable photos posted so far and I look forward to seeing more :)

This next is just a documentary type photo for a procedure to change the clutch in my motorcycle. Some of the shots are just shots, but this particular one regardless of subject matter, just caught my eye. I love the geometric and spacial aspects of this.

Neat pics Magoo and I love close up images of industrial items as much as I do any other picture, I just thing when we choose an image be that a plant, animal, object and we do a close up, you find that it opens more imagination to what that object is and how beautiful they can be, I'm a fan of closeup photography, now being in medical retina imaging we deal with micron size images so they fascinate me still.

No idea why posting this but someone in work asked me about a comment I made about my "watch monkey" (trademarking that phrase) and here is pic of said creature
    [IMG]
I do actually put whatever watch I'm not wearing on that monkey as its a good place too.

I also love the closeups. That old sony mentioned earlier was great at that. I used to take the macro shots just to be able to read some of the small markings.

I just recently picked up some LED bulbs from the 99¢ only stores. Screw in type 40w equiv, draw about 2 watts. 6400k bulbs. I'm going to try them out for lighting up shots for selling stuff on ebay, any thoughts on good lighting for indoors?

I have tried with older pro lighting, halogen, but dang they get hot and cast alot of shadows. I hope these work out.

You're welcome. One day (month) I will need to organize all my photos. Maybe spend some time captioning some of the best.

Couple days ago a Cactus Wren came and pestered me. I couldn't get the camera out in time. Well, it was so close that any movement spooked it.

I am in the process of sorting my photo's out too, it's laborious and mind numbing, not half as nice as taking them, but it has to be done.
    Oooh I love Wrens!

Indirect lighting, ideally with whatever you're shooting in a light box. You can make your own or buy one, but don't shine any light, no matter what kind, directly on the objects you're shooting. I got something similar to this: Studio in a Box, but the lights that came with it suck really, really bad (mine was the $40 version). I ended up getting a couple of aluminum clip lights from the hardware store and they work well pointed at the sides, because the box is great! But whatever lighting you use, make sure it's at least diffused; pointing light directly at things will give you wicked bad shadows.

I can't quite tell, sumac and ivy/holly? I think the poison ivy has 3 leaf clusters, like a clover, but the leafs are shaped the same. Then in the top photo, the one looks like the leaves are growing on opposite sides of a stem runner, like sumac.

We took my one partial day off and used it for a trip to the greenhouse, and I just now finished planting my garden. Buttercrunch lettuce and mixed leaf lettuce seeds, mint, chives, borage, parsley, sweet basil, thyme, Greek oregano, tarragon, dill, and red, yellow, and orange bell peppers.

I'm taking a photo class right now. It's a series of 4 during the different seasons. The second was last week (Summer), here a couple of shots from that. The one is for kestrel. :) I don't shoot birds since I don't have the patience, but I got this little guy.
